Background
Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company (3M)
began in 1902 as a mining company making sandpaper
and grinding wheels.
In 2014, 3M reached an innovation milestone with the issuance of its 100,000th patent. Each year about 3,000 patents are issued to 3M worldwide, with more than 500 granted in the U.S.
Scientific, technical and marketing innovations produced success upon success over the years, eventually making 3M a constant name on the Fortune 500 list. Today, more than 60,000 3M products are used in homes, businesses, schools, hospitals and other industries. One-third of sales come from products invented within the past 5 years and 3M currently have around 95,000 employees with corporate operations in 70 countries.
You may be familiar with some of their products and brands which include – PELTOR, Scotch, Post-it, Thinsulate and Scotchgard.
Product Range
The Command™ product range is made up of innovative self-adhesive hooks and hanging strips for use in the home and business, and as the strap line says, they do no damage to the walls when removed.
