Bandsaws are ideal for rough rip cuts and fast preparation cuts by using a narrow band of toothed metal fitted around two wheels. They can also make highly precise curved cuts at faster speed than a jig saw could do and are useful for cutting irregular shapes. With the correct blade they can be used for cutting wood, metal and a variery of other materials.
Metal Chop saws are fixed high powered machines designed to produce a clean through cut in steel and ferrous metals. The disc is suspended above the work and the user pulls the saw down towards the workpiece. The disc cutter is a large powerful tool, similar to an angle grinder and is designed to be used with a diamond blade or flat abrasive cutting discs for larger cutting applications.
Circular saws are ideal for making rapid and accurate long cuts (with the addition of a guide accurate cuts are easily achieved) or cutting large volumes of timber, MDF, Plywood and other man made materials and in some cases with the correct blade, thin metals.
Circular saws are ideal for making long cuts (with the addition of a guide accurate cuts are easily achieved) or cutting large volumes of timber, MDF, Plywood and other man made materials and in some cases thin metals. A safer alternative to corded circular saws these cordless saws have the advantage of being instantly useable and in some cases are light enough to use one handed.
Jigsaws, with the right blade attached , are capable of a variety of jobs in a wide range of materials from ripping and cross cutting in both solid timbers , man made materials and thin metals, to intricate curves and internal shaped work. Jigsaws with an Orbital or pendulum action speed up cutting by moving the blade in a slightly circular motion, when using a normal jigsaw blade it cuts on the upward movement by moving the blade forward and then back on the downward movement, this increased cutting speed will give you a coarser finish. When precision cutting, plunge cutting or cutting metal is required the orbital action should be turned off. When making a straight cut it is ideal to use a slower cutting speed and a wider blade to prevent the blade from bending or pulling the saw off course.
Features Cordless Jigsaws and a Sabre Saws. The Jigsaws accepts both universal and T Shank blades, the powerful fan cooled motor delivers fast cutting action unto 2000 strokes per minute, giving faster cutting. A dust blower keeps the cut line clear. The 24 volt sabre saw is a reciprocating saw, giving high performance, its lightweight design giving the user optimized power to weight ratio.
These versatile Plunge Saws (also known as Track Saws) revolutionises the way you use a traditional circular saw, they give Panel Saw capacity, table saw precision with circular saw portability. In addition to standard circular saw capabilities with these saws you'll be able to make inside plunge cuts and trim interior doors.
Reciprocating saws (also know as Sabre Saws) operate on a similar principle to jigsaws but with the blade protruding from the front of the machine. They are intended for freehand use and a range of blades are available to suit different materials and cutting applications. Most saws have moveable front shoes which help to prolong the life of the blade by evening the wear when cutting thin material. With the correct blade theres virtually no building material it cant cut. it is an ideal tool to have for construction , workshop or for jobs around the home and garden.
Think of a handsaw without the hard work. From fence posts to drain pipes , Floorboards to Worktops these powered handsaws give you a fast clean cut in seconds.
Mitre saws (also known as chop saws) give excellent precise, accurate angled cuts in wood both in the workshop or on site. The cutting options vary by machine and include cross cut, bevel and mitre cutting and compound mitre. Their uses include cutting mitres for frames, dados rails, skirting, architraves and a wide variety of general purpose carpentry and joinery. Mitre saws operate similar to a circular saw which is mounted onto a base, hinged and are able to make a bevelled cut left or right. Standard mitre saws cut through the work piece from above, the maximum size of the cut is dictated by the size of the blade attached ,whilst sliding mitre saws have a facility where the saw will slide along a rail allowing for a much wider cut and offers the possibility of creating non-through cuts (ideal for lap jointing). The compound feature allows the angle of the blade to be changed relative to the work piece which gives angled and tilt cuts. This allows the saw to be used for bevel cutting, most compound features will allow the angle to be set between 0° and 50°, while the less-common double-bevel allows the angle to be set between -50° and 50° useful for any complex joinery applications such as cutting struts and hip beams in roof construction.
Flipover Saws are freestanding saws which can be converted from a bench saw to a mitre saw by simply inverting the table.
The radial arm saw is a very accurate, safe to use, robust, reliable and versatile saw for professional woodworkers. They consist of a saw that is suspended on an arm which can be angled, rotated, locked into position. These are precision saws capable of multiple types of function including cross cuts, miter and ripping All DeWalt radial arm saws come pre-assembled and adjusted in a crate for transportation protection and reduced set up time.
